5.     Recommendations for Windows users – END of the Brazilian DST

For Windows Vista, Windows 2008, Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2 there are no special instructions to transition to the end of daylight saving time (February 26^th, 2011) for the following scenarios:

• ·         Machines that are updated with any of the following updates available on Windows Update:
  • o    KB2570791 – August 2011 cumulative time zone update for Windows operating systems
  • o    KB2443685- December 2010 cumulative time zone update for Windows operating systems
  • o    KB2158563- September 2010 cumulative time zone update for Windows operating systems
  • o    KB981793- May  2010 cumulative time zone update for Windows operating systems
  • o    KB979306 – February 2010 cumulative time zone update for Windows operating systems
  • o    KB976908 – December 2009 cumulative time zone update for Microsoft Windows operating systems

• ·         Machines that are updated any of the following updates not available on Windows Update:
  • oKB2443367 – Hotfix available for Windows daylight saving time support for Chile, Egypt, and Morocco
  • oKB2519231 – A hotfix is available to update the Daylight Saving Time for Chile for Windows Operating Systems
  • oKB 981128- A hotfix is available to update the Daylight Saving Time for the “(UTC-04:00) Asuncion”, “(UTC+12:00) Fiji” and “(UTC-04:00) Santiago” time zone for Windows Operating Systems

• ·         Machines adjusted according to the guidelines published on the Latam Blog last year.

For Windows XP, Windows 2003 and Windows 2003 R2 users will have to install the December 2011 cumulative update that will be available on Windows Update on December 13^th of 2011.
